Concrete Crew – Atlantic Road Construction & Paving
ARCP is a large heavy civil construction company specializing in excavation and flatworks, pipeline placement, concrete placement, and asphalt paving. Our team has had tremendous growth in the last year, and we are excited to keep expanding. We are looking to expand our Concrete Crew with hardworking individuals in the HRM area who are experienced in the field and can help us meet our demands for operations for the upcoming 2024 season starting this spring. Whether you’re experienced with prepping, forming, finishing, or leading the whole crew altogether, we want to hear from you!
Requirements
- Some previous experience working with concrete for Labourers.
- 3-5 years previous experience for those applying for Finisher.
- Minimum 5 years experience for those applying for Foreman.
- Valid Drivers License & reliable transportation to work required.
- Ability to work effectively in a team setting.
- Must be reliable and punctual.
- Strong communication skills.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Tasks vary dependant on position but could include any of the following:
- Installing and removing concrete forms.
- Mixing, pouring, and spreading concrete.
- Assisting heavy equipment operators to secure attachments to equipment
- Assisting in setting up forms in which concrete is poured.
- Pouring, shoveling, grading and smoothing concrete.
- Responsible for the direct placement of concrete.
- Smooth and finish freshly poured concrete.
- Maintain and restore various curbs, sidewalks, etc.
- Operating a power vibrator to compress concrete.
- Applying curing or surface treatment to laid concrete.
- Applying hardening and sealing compounds to concrete
- Responsible for building the framework for concrete.
- Repair/resurface/replace worn or damaged concrete.
- Complete desired finished concrete surfaces using hand and power tools.
- Other duties as required.
