This part-time probationary teaching position includes Junior and Senior High Mathematics and Science. Specific Position Duties
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Experience and/or training in Junior and Senior High Mathematics and Science instruction
- A strong understanding of the Alberta curriculum and effective instructional practices in Mathematics and Science
- The ability to create engaging, inquiry-based learning experiences that promote critical thinking, problem solving, and student engagement
- Experience using assessment data to inform instruction and support student growth
- The ability to create inclusive learning environments that support a range of learning needs and abilities
- The ability to differentiate instruction and provide appropriate supports and challenges for diverse learners
- A commitment to fostering positive relationships and creating learning environments where all students feel valued and supported
- A willingness to contribute to extracurricular opportunities and the broader school community
Qualifications and General Duties
The successful candidate will possess:
- A valid Alberta Teaching Certificate
- A student-centred philosophy committed to maximizing student learning in a safe and caring environment
- Experience and/or training in Assessment for Learning, including formative and summative assessment practices
- Proficiency with Google Workspace for Education and educational technology to support communication, collaboration, and student learning
- The ability to foster positive relationships and create a strong sense of belonging for students
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively as part of a team
- A demonstrated commitment to professional growth and reflective practice aligned with the Alberta Teaching Quality Standard
- A willingness to contribute to extracurricular opportunities and the broader school community would be considered an asset
