Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Forklift Operator to join our dynamic warehouse team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating various types of forklifts and equipment to efficiently handle, move, and organize inventory within the warehouse environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, be capable of heavy lifting, and demonstrate a commitment to safety and accuracy. This position plays a vital role in maintaining smooth warehouse distribution operations and supporting overall supply chain effectiveness.
Responsibilities
- Operate forklift trucks, including clamp trucks and order pickers, to load, unload, and transport materials throughout the warehouse
- Perform accurate order picking using warehouse management systems to fulfill customer orders efficiently
- Conduct routine inspections of forklifts and equipment to ensure safety standards are maintained
- Assist with inventory management by organizing stock and ensuring proper storage practices
- Use basic math skills to verify quantities and prepare shipments accurately
- Handle heavy lifting tasks safely while adhering to established safety protocols
- Support warehouse distribution activities by coordinating with team members to optimize workflow
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas to promote a safe working environment
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating forklifts, including clamp trucks and order pickers
- Mechanical knowledge related to forklift maintenance and troubleshooting
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems for inventory control and order processing
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Strong understanding of warehouse distribution processes
- Basic math skills for inventory counting and order verification
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to safety standards
