About the Atlantic Masonry Institute
The Atlantic Masonry Institute (AMI) supports and advances the masonry industry in Atlantic Canada through education, industry events, advocacy, and workforce development initiatives. We are a not-for-profit company supported by our membership which includes masonry contractors, suppliers, manufacturers and bricklayers’ unions.
Position Summary
The Atlantic Masonry Institute is seeking a dependable and organized Administrative & Community Outreach Coordinator to support day-to-day operations, assist with industry event planning, and participate in outreach initiatives that promote careers in masonry. This role will primarily be in-office but will also include some travel throughout Nova Scotia and New Brunswick in attending youth outreach events for the construction industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and support industry events, including scheduling, venue coordination, registrations, food and beverage, and follow-up communications
- Attend industry, community, and career outreach events to promote careers in masonry
- Engage with students, children, and the general public in a positive, professional, and age-appropriate manner
- Manage the relationships with schools across Atlantic Canada who provide masonry education as part of their curriculum
- Assist with the preparation and distribution of promotional and educational materials
- Provide general administrative support
- Manage email correspondence and respond to routine inquiries
- Maintain contact lists, member records, and event databases
- Coordinate meeting logistics such as agendas, minutes, catering, and materials
- Support basic bookkeeping or invoicing tasks as required
- Assist with office organization and daily operational needs
Qualifications & Skills
· 1–3 years of experience in administrative or office support roles preferred
- Comfortable speaking with the public, including children and youth, in an educational or promotional setting
- Valid driver’s licence
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
- Ability to speak French is considered an asset
- Experience with social media is considered an asset
- Professional, dependable, and able to work independently
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly wage: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour
- Part-time hours: 20-25 hours per week

Work Environment & Requirements
- In-office position based out of Modspace Dartmouth, next to Delta Dartmouth. Free Parking
- Occasional attendance at off-site events may be required
