About Btrust
We are Btrust. Since 2008, we’ve innovated the Canadian grocery retail experience specializing to sell primarily fresh and healthy foods. Our goal is to introduce diverse food culture to every family table. We offer a wide range of products to cater to various taste preferences and budgets. The company is headquartered in Oakville, Ontario. In 2008, we opened our first Btrust Supermarket at the Golden Square, a shopping center in Mississauga, Ontario. Today, we manage a nationwide chain of 4 stores, covering an impressive 120,000 square feet and offering more than 20,000 different products, allowing families across Canada to enjoy fresh, healthy, and flavorful meals.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect, prepare, package, label and display meat or seafood products
- Stock counters, refrigerated displays and service areas
- Check product quality, freshness, pricing and expiry dates
- Rotate products using proper food-handling and inventory procedures
- Assist customers with product selection and general inquiries
- Weigh, package and label customer orders accurately
- Maintain clean and organized workstations, equipment and storage areas
- Follow food safety, sanitation and workplace health and safety procedures
- Safely use department equipment and cutting tools after receiving appropriate training
- Move products between receiving, refrigerated storage and display areas
- Assist with inventory counts and minimize product waste
- Perform other related duties assigned by the department supervisor
Qualifications:
- Experience in a supermarket, meat department, seafood department, food preparation or other related environment is an asset
- Entry-level candidates who are willing to learn are welcome to apply
- Able to follow food safety, sanitation and workplace safety procedures
- Comfortable working with raw meat or seafood products
- Comfortable working in refrigerated and freezer environments
- Able to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive physical tasks
- Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs safely
- Able to communicate effectively with customers and coworkers in English
- Additional language skills are an asset
- Reliable, punctual and able to work independently and as part of a team
- Available to work flexible shifts, including weekends and statutory holidays, based on business needs
