We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Finance to join our Senior Leadership Team. This is an exceptional opportunity for a finance professional who enjoys leading people, driving financial strategy, and making a meaningful impact within a respected long-term care organization.
Reporting directly to the CEO, you will oversee all aspects of financial operations, budgeting, payroll, benefits, reporting, and financial planning while supporting key HR initiatives. As a trusted advisor to the CEO and Board of Directors, you will play a critical role in ensuring the organization's long-term financial health, regulatory compliance, and operational success.
What You'll Be Responsible For
Lead all financial operations, accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
Oversee payroll, employee benefits, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial controls.
Prepare and manage the annual operating budget and coordinate the external audit process.
Provide financial analysis and reporting to support executive leadership and Board decision-making.
Develop long-term financial strategies while maximizing government funding opportunities.
Ensure compliance with Ministry of Long-Term Care funding requirements, charitable reporting, and all applicable financial legislation.
Support collective bargaining, HR initiatives, WSIB administration, and return-to-work programs.
Lead technology and financial system improvements that enhance operational efficiency.
Provide leadership and mentorship to the finance and administrative team.
Act on behalf of the CEO during periods of absence.
What We're Looking For
CPA designation (CA, CGA, CMA or equivalent).
Minimum 5 years of progressive senior financial leadership experience.
Experience in long-term care, healthcare, not-for-profit, or a similarly regulated environment is strongly preferred.
Strong knowledge of budgeting, financial reporting, audits, payroll, government funding, and compliance.
Proven ability to lead teams, build relationships, and communicate effectively with executives, Boards, and external stakeholders.
Strategic thinker with exceptional organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
