Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Shift Leader to oversee daily operations within our busy food service environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for the food industry, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service. This role involves supervising team members, ensuring food safety standards, and maintaining high-quality food preparation and service throughout the shift. Prior restaurant management or supervising experience is highly valued, along with a solid background in food handling, kitchen operations, and hospitality. The Shift Leader plays a crucial role in fostering a positive team atmosphere while ensuring operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily restaurant operations during assigned shifts to ensure smooth workflow and adherence to company standards.
- Oversee food preparation and cooking processes, ensuring quality and consistency in all menu items.
- Lead and motivate team members, providing guidance on food safety, food handling, and customer service best practices.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including proper food safety procedures and sanitation standards.
- Assist in training new staff members and providing ongoing coaching to enhance team performance.
- Manage customer interactions to resolve issues promptly and ensure a positive dining experience.
- Monitor inventory levels related to food preparation supplies and communicate needs for restocking.
- Uphold restaurant policies related to serving, hospitality, and overall guest satisfaction.
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas, kitchen stations, and dining spaces during the shift.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or restaurant management; supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards, food handling procedures, and kitchen operations.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to supervise staff effectively while fostering teamwork.
- Exceptional customer service skills with a friendly demeanor.
- Background in the food industry or hospitality sector is highly desirable; restaurant experience is preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Barista experience or serving background is a plus but not required.
- Demonstrated ability to lead by example with professionalism and integrity.
- Knowledge of food industry trends and commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Pay: $17.20-$20.00 per hour
