Hospital Security Guard
NOTE - This Job requires relocating to Northern Ontario - Timmins, Iroquois Falls and Cochrane, Ontario.

Pay rate $23/hr
IMPORTANT - Compliance Requirements
Due to Ontario Long-Term Care regulations, candidates must have the following documents before starting shifts.
Candidates who already have complete compliance documentation will be prioritized for upcoming shifts.
Required Compliance
- Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) - issued within the last 6 months
- 2-Step TB Test - issued within the last 6 months
- COVID-19 Vaccination Proof
- Influenza Vaccination Proof (current season)
- Security Guard License and any addition Security training ( use of force, tactical guard etc)
- CPR and 1st Aid
- N95 Mask Fit Test
- WHMIS Certificate
- Worker Health & Safety Awareness (WHSA) Certificate
- GPA
- IPAC training for Healthcare workers
- Government-issued ID
Successful applicants will be added to our Talent Pool. When opportunities arise for full-time, part-time, or casual shifts at our partner's long-term care homes in your area, we will contact qualified candidates.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, staff, and hospital property.
- Conduct regular patrols of hospital units, entrances, parking areas, and other designated locations.
- Respond to security incidents, disturbances, safety concerns, and emergency situations in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
- Provide support for patients requiring observation or supervision to ensure their safety and well-being.
- Utilize de-escalation techniques and Gentle Persuasive Approaches (GPA) when interacting with patients experiencing responsive behaviours or emotional distress.
- Monitor and report changes in patient behaviour, safety risks, or unusual incidents to nursing staff and hospital leadership.
- Complete required reports, observation logs, and incident documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
- Support hospital emergency responses, including Code White, Code Red, Code Yellow, and other hospital codes.
- Assist with maintaining a clean, safe, and organized environment, including supporting infection prevention and control measures when required.
- Provide professional customer service and assistance to patients, visitors, and staff while maintaining a strong security presence.
