Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the dental team by providing exceptional patient care, assisting with procedures, and ensuring the smooth operation of daily clinic activities. Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments in accordance with infection control protocols
- Assist dentists during various procedures including restorations, extractions, and orthodontic treatments
- Take and develop dental radiographs (CAD experience is a plus)
- Manage patient records using dental software such as Epic and Dentrix
- Provide patient education on oral health care and post-treatment instructions
- Ensure patient comfort by explaining procedures and addressing concerns
- Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment
- Support front desk duties as needed, including scheduling appointments and managing patient flow (experience as a dental receptionist is advantageous)
- Assist with pediatric patients, ensuring a gentle approach tailored to children’s needs
- Handle medical terminology accurately during documentation and communication
Skills
- Proficiency in dental assisting techniques with certification or relevant training
- Experience working with dental software platforms like Epic and Dentrix
- Knowledge of orthodontics procedures and materials
- Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices
- Ability to interpret medical terminology accurately
- Strong understanding of infection control standards and sterilization processes
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and team members
- Experience supporting front desk operations or as a dental receptionist is beneficial
- Knowledge of CAD systems related to dental imaging or prosthetics is a plus
