Project Manager
Napier-Reid is currently seeking a Project Manager to work with other team members to successfully manage and oversee execution of assigned projects from initiation, through completion of engineering, manufacturing, inspection, delivery, start-up, commissioning and after service as well as ongoing support. Reporting to the Director of Project Management, the Project Manager ensures all contracted work is executed in accordance with the Company’s policies, including contract documents, budget, schedule, safety, quality control and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and direct projects from beginning to completion.
- Monitor project budgets and schedules with refinement through the project lifecycle.
- Negotiate contract revisions, changes and additions to contractual agreements with contractors, vendors, and suppliers.
- Prepare required internal and external reports pertaining to job status; ability to communicate to all stakeholders the progress of projects.
- Work as part of a team in the cost-effective, proper and timely production of engineering designs, drawings, and plans, that meet established requirements and standards.
- Collaborate with in-house Project Engineering to ensure project deliverables are delivered within schedule parameters.
- Monitors the site progress including identifying and resolving discrepancies between the installation and drawings and/or design intent. Participates in the management and response to the various requests for information.
- On-going communication with clients, subcontractors & suppliers.
- Assist with the preparation of project-specific O&M manuals.
- Coordinate project start-up, testing and commissioning requirements.
- Other related duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- A bachelor’s degree and 2-7 years of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience; work experience with water or wastewater treatment related projects/equipment or mechanical engineering background considered an asset.
- Strong planning, time management and organizational skills.
- Supervisory and contract/vendor management experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as within a team environment.
- Able to manage multiple projects and tasks at a time.
- Able to meet sensitive timelines.
- Proficiency with MS Office software; experience in Smartsheet and Epicor considered an asset.
- Possess valid Driver's License and good driving history.
- Ability to travel to job sites both in and out of province or to the USA as required.
- Desire to continually develop professional skills.
Salary is commensurate with experience.
