Role Purpose:
Support Process Flow and Quality Improvement projects by implementing corrective actions throughout the process using methodologies of Six Sigma and the 8 Wastes of Lean Manufacturing.
Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and implement action plans to solve part problems. This will require interaction with Production, Tooling, Quality and or/Maintenance groups.
- Monitor and control mold temperatures, chemical stream temperatures and pressures, and systems calibration.
- Line start-up and shut-down procedures.
- Review and revise schedule changes.
- React to process related quality problems including load variations. Work on advance quality planning teams.
- Support Team Leaders, Process engineer, and Process Manager as requested.
- Be actively involved in Kaizen events when requested.
Qualifications:
- Enrolled in an Engineering degree program, or a recent graduate
- Ability to add, subtracts, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret control charts. Working knowledge of Trigonometry fraction, Algebra and Shop applications.
- Proficiency in personal computer operations using Microsoft Office software. Gage Trak Software and others as requested.
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization. Must have excellent communication skills (oral & written)
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, 5S, and Kaizen is a plus.
