ROLE SUMMARY
The Supervisor – Manufacturing Operations (Evenings) is responsible for overseeing all production activities during the evening shift in our manufacturing environment. This role ensures the safe, efficient, and high-quality operation of production lines while providing leadership, coaching, and support to Operators and Labourers. The Supervisor is accountable for shift performance, KPI results, employee safety, discipline when required, and maintaining compliance with all operational and quality standards.
The Supervisor also collaborates closely with the CCI Manufacturing Production Supervisors, QHSE team, and other departments to drive continuous improvement and ensure optimal production flow.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership & People Management
- Supervise and support all Operators and Labourers on the evening shift.
- Ensure the safety of all employees by enforcing safety rules, conducting safety checks, and promoting a positive safety culture.
- Assist with employee performance reviews in collaboration with the Director of Operations.
- Conduct disciplinary measures when necessary, following company policies and documentation requirements.
- Provide coaching, feedback, and direction to achieve shift objectives.
- Participate in personnel planning, including scheduling and staffing.
- Ensure training and competency development for all required positions.
- Lead and support onboarding and training of new employees; ensure training checklists are completed.
Operational Management
- Responsible for overall evening shift performance, including KPIs such as tonnes per hour, quality, safety, and recipe control.
- Present shift changeovers using key metrics and ensure accurate communication between shifts.
- Oversee the operation of all machines and production areas, ensuring conformance to standards.
- Support product changes, troubleshooting, and rapid response to production interruptions.
- Direct team activities during machine downtime (reinforcement breaks, product changes, etc.).
- Ensure proper setup of material for incoming shift to avoid production gaps.
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure quality standards are met by verifying that required quality tests are understood, performed, and documented.
- Ensure compliance with all manufacturing procedures, safety protocols, and guidelines.
- Work collaboratively with CCI Production Team and QHSE to implement corrective and preventive actions.
Reporting & Documentation
- Complete all required shift reports, including safety, recipe control, production performance, and incident logs.
- Maintain accurate staffing, training, and disciplinary documentation.
- Communicate all major issues, risks, or safety concerns to the Director of Operations promptly.
Other Responsibilities
- Perform basic visual inspections and review of OBM checklists of forklifts, skid steers, loaders, conveyors at start of shift.
- Attend mandatory off-site training (e.g., first aid, safety, train-the-trainer, etc.).
- Carry out additional responsibilities assigned by the Director of Operations.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- High school diploma required.
- Post-secondary education in a technical or leadership field (asset).
Knowledge and Experience
- Experience in a manufacturing or processing environment required.
- Competency in production processes and automated systems.
- Forklift, Skidsteer experience (asset; training provided).
- Basic computer skills (Excel, email, AS400CA, Microsoft Suite).
- Experience working with Shredders, Conveyors and asset

WORKING CONDITIONS
- Eveing shift position; may rotate if needed.
- Shift will be 2pm to 10:30pm, with a possible adjust to 3:30pm to 12pm
- Required to work on the machine daily, covering breaks and/or absences
- Physical requirements include lifting up to 50 lbs (team lifting when required).
- Must wear all required PPE (safety glasses, hearing protection, safety footwear, etc.).
- Exposure to temperature fluctuations within the plant.
- Requires both physical and mental stamina to manage evening operations.

Pay: $75,000.00-$95,000.00 per year
