As a producer of premium dimensional stone, we supply high-quality landscape and building stone throughout Western Canada and beyond. Our stone is also used by our sister company, Columbia Dimensional Stone, to craft natural stone veneer and custom stone solutions.

JOB DESCRIPTION
This role supports drilling and blasting operations at our quarry on a part-time, as-needed basis. This role is responsible for planning and carrying out safe, effective blasts that maximize stone recovery while supporting the overall efficiency of quarry operations.
Success in this role requires sound judgment, careful planning, and the ability to evaluate blasting results and adapt blast designs to changing conditions to achieve the best possible stone recovery.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform drilling and blasting activities safely and efficiently.
- Plan, prepare, and execute blast designs to optimize stone recovery and production efficiency.
- Evaluate blasting results and refine blast designs to improve yield and adapt to changing ground conditions.
- Work closely with the quarry team to coordinate blasting activities and maintain production schedules.
- Ensure all drilling, blasting, and explosive handling activities comply with applicable regulations and company safety procedures.
- Inspect and maintain drilling equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation.
- Maintain accurate drilling and blasting records.
- Contribute to a safe, productive, and collaborative work environment.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- Demonstrated experience in quarry drilling and blasting operations.
- Strong understanding of blast design principles and the ability to adapt designs to optimize stone recovery.
- Knowledge of safe explosive handling practices and applicable regulations.
- Experience operating and maintaining drilling equipment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions in changing conditions.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with the quarry team.
- High attention to detail and a strong commitment to safety.
LOCATION
Quarry operations are located approximately 15 minutes from Cranbrook, BC, on Lumberton Road.
HOURS
- Part-time, as needed for drilling and blasting operations (typically Monday-Friday).
- Full-time opportunities may be available for candidates interested in supporting additional quarry operations.
WHAT WE OFFER
- $35-$45/hr, dependent on experience.
