Restaurant & Banquet Server
Elbow Springs Golf Club is seeking friendly, energetic, and service-oriented Restaurant & Banquet Servers to join our Food & Beverage team for the remainder of the golf season. Located at one of Calgary's premier private golf clubs, our restaurant offers members and guests a welcoming dining experience with beautiful views of the golf course, while also hosting weddings, tournaments, corporate events, and private functions throughout the season.
We are looking for motivated and dependable people who are committed to providing exceptional service and work as a team. This is a seasonal position (weather dependent, likely ends mid-October).
Applicants must be able to get here independently - we are located just west of Calgary on Highway 8 with no public transit access.
The ideal candidate has a passion for hospitality, enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in delivering exceptional service. Whether serving members, public golfers before or after their round, or guests attending a special event, you will play an important role in creating memorable experiences.
Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional food and beverage service in both the clubhouse restaurant and event spaces.
- Welcome members and guests with a warm, professional, and positive attitude.
- Set up banquet rooms according to event specifications, including tables, linens and place settings.
- Prepare the restaurant and patio for daily service, ensuring all service stations are fully stocked and organized.
- Serve food and beverages efficiently while maintaining high standards of hospitality.
- Assist golfers with quick and attentive service before and after their rounds.
- Maintain a clean and organized dining room, patio, lounge, and banquet spaces throughout service.
- Bus and reset tables promptly to ensure an exceptional guest experience.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure accurate food delivery and presentation.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of menu items, daily features, beverage offerings, and wine selections to confidently answer guest questions.
- Follow all responsible liquor service standards.
- Assist with all event service: including weddings, member functions, corporate events, and golf tournaments.
- Complete opening, closing, and side duties according to lists and as assigned.
- Help break down events and return equipment and supplies to their proper locations.
- Greet guests, making them feel welcome and familiar
- Know our menu and provide suggestions to guests
- Lead by example, take pride in work, and have the right attitude to contribute to our company culture in a positive way
Qualifications & Experience
- Previous experience serving in a restaurant, golf club, banquet, or catering environment is preferred.
- Banquet serving or fine dining experience is considered an asset.
- A passion for delivering outstanding guest experiences.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong teamwork skills and a willingness to support fellow staff.
- Knowledge of food handling and food safety practices.
- Valid ProServe certification (or willingness to obtain before employment).
- Must be available to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and tournament/event days for the remainder of the golf season.
