True Peace Counselling would like to contract an associate counsellor to provide in-person sessions from their office space in Victoria’s Westshore.
About Us
True Peace Counselling exists because people deserve a space where they feel genuinely held. We provide an opportunity for clients’ most intimate thoughts, emotions, and experiences to be spoken aloud without fear of judgment, and with the belief that healing is possible.
Our practice is founded on inherent human worth. The textbook term for what we offer is “unconditional positive regard,” but, unlike a textbook, our belief in inherent worth isn’t a checkbox item. The belief that every person is worthy of love, respect, and dedication is our “Why”; all of our decisions are based on this foundational belief.
Our clients are looking for deeper therapy work. Over and over again we hear, “I am tired of just talking about it. I want things to change.” A typical caseload at True Peace Counselling includes working with clients who want to explore intergenerational patterns, attachment trauma, and the impacts of adverse childhood experiences. Our clients have read the self-help books, but they need help moving from logical to emotional.
This work is rewarding, but it is emotionally taxing. We are a team that supports one another. We find meaning in having community with a team of therapists who know and respect the meaning of what we do. Counselling can be lonely work. When you’re a part of our team, you are seen and appreciated for who you are and what you contribute.
Just like a therapeutic relationship, the right fit matters for our team. If you resonate with who True Peace Counselling is, then please read on, and apply if you think we are a good fit.
