We have a strong talent base with a wealth of expertise in technical report writing (43-101), resource estimates, seasoned field experience, and specialize in domestic and international remote access project locations.
Position SummaryThe GIS Specialist is responsible for managing, analyzing, and interpreting spatial and geoscientific data to support mineral exploration programs and target generation initiatives. This role involves georeferencing maps and datasets, integrating multiple sources of geological and geophysical information, evaluating and prioritizing geophysical conductors, and producing maps and spatial analyses that guide exploration decision-making.
Key Responsibilities

Georeference historical and current maps, grids, survey data, drillhole information, and spatial datasets to ensure accurate integration within GIS platforms.

Compile, manage, validate, and maintain spatial databases and geoscientific datasets from various sources.

Vet, interpret, map, and prioritize geophysical conductors and anomalies using geological, geochemical, geophysical, and remote sensing data.

Integrate and analyze multiple datasets to identify exploration targets and support target ranking exercises.

Generate high-quality maps, figures, and spatial products for technical reports, presentations, and exploration planning.

Conduct spatial analyses to support exploration activities, including prospectivity assessments, target delineation, and drill planning.

Collaborate with geologists, geophysicists, and exploration managers to evaluate exploration opportunities and develop target-generation strategies.

Interpret geophysical survey results and contribute to the identification of prospective mineralized zones.

Support the planning and execution of exploration programs by providing accurate spatial information and recommendations.

Ensure data quality, consistency, and compliance with company standards and best practices.

Maintain GIS project files, metadata, and documentation.

Assist in the development and implementation of GIS workflows, data management procedures, and analytical methodologies.
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, Geophysics, Geographic Information Systems (with a geoscience minor), or a related geoscience field.
- Experience working with GIS software such as ArcGIS Pro, ArcMap, QGIS, or equivalent platforms.

Knowledge of mineral exploration, geological mapping, and geophysical datasets.

Experience georeferencing maps, grids, imagery, and historical exploration data.

Understanding of geophysical survey methods and interpretation of conductive anomalies.

Strong spatial analysis, data management, and cartographic skills.

Proficiency with database management, spatial data formats, coordinate systems, and projections.

Experience with scripting or automation tools (e.g., Python, SQL) is considered an asset.

Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.

Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary exploration teams.
Preferred Experience

Experience in mineral exploration, mining, or geoscience consulting environments.

Familiarity with electromagnetic (EM), magnetic, gravity, IP, or other geophysical datasets.

Experience supporting target generation, prospectivity analysis, and exploration project evaluation.
