Job Title: General Labourer
Location: Belleville, Ontario, Canada and surrounding project sites
Company: Strong Bros. General Contracting Ltd.
Shift/Hours: Monday – Friday, full-time. Hours may vary based on operational needs, weather, project schedules, site conditions, and business needs. Additional hours may be required.
Compensation Range: $21.50 - $23.00 per hour based on experience
Start Date: As soon as possible

About This Opportunity
We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused General Labourer to support civil construction projects across Ontario.
This is a hands-on field role responsible for assisting with daily site activities, supporting crews and supervisors, maintaining safe and organized work areas, and helping ensure project work is completed efficiently and to company standards.
The successful candidate will be comfortable working outdoors, performing physical work, following direction, and working as part of a team in a fast-paced construction environment.
Responsibilities:
Site Support & General Labour:
- Assist with daily civil construction activities, including site preparation, excavation support, grading, concrete work, drainage, aggregate placement, restoration, and general construction work
- Perform hands-on labour duties such as shovelling, raking, sweeping, lifting, carrying, grading, clean-up, material placement, and site setup
- Assist operators, drivers, foremen, site supervisors, subcontractors, and other workers as required
- Load, unload, move, organize, and place tools, materials, equipment, supplies, signage, barriers, and other site items
- Support concrete forming, pouring, finishing preparation, demolition, backfilling, compaction, landscaping, and restoration work as assigned
- Assist with traffic control setup, site access, pedestrian protection, fencing, barricades, signage, and general site organization
- Follow supervisor direction, project priorities, site rules, and company procedures
Tools, Equipment & Site Operations:
- Use hand tools, power tools, small equipment, and other assigned equipment when trained and authorized
- Assist with maintaining tools, equipment, materials, access routes, and work areas in a safe and organized condition
- Operate company vehicles or equipment only when trained, authorized, and required for work-related duties
- Report damaged tools, defective equipment, maintenance concerns, hazards, incidents, spills, property damage, or near misses promptly
- Work safely around heavy equipment, vehicles, traffic, pedestrians, customers, subcontractors, and changing site conditions
Documentation & Safety:
- Complete required forms, time records, safety documents, inspections, or other paperwork as assigned
- Wear required personal protective equipment and follow company policies, site rules, traffic plans, and safe work procedures
- Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, orientations, training, hazard assessments, and incident investigations as required
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe worksite, including access routes, work areas, storage areas, tools, equipment, and materials
- Represent the company professionally when interacting with employees, customers, contractors, inspectors, suppliers, and the public
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Previous construction, civil, general labour, concrete, excavation, grading, drainage, landscaping, restoration, or related field experience is considered an asset
- Ability to perform physical labour and work outdoors in various weather and site conditions
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and work safely as part of a team
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and small equipment when trained and authorized
- Valid driver’s licence in good standing is considered an asset
- Where driving is, or may become, part of the employee’s duties, the employee must maintain a valid driver’s licence in good standing and provide an acceptable driver’s abstract that meets company and insurance requirements
- The company may obtain and review the employee’s driver’s abstract every three months, or as otherwise required
- Reliable, punctual, safety-focused, and willing to learn
- Ability to complete basic forms, time records, safety documentation, or other paperwork accurately when required
- Must comply with company health and safety requirements and be fit for duty while performing work, operating tools or equipment, or driving company vehicles
