Department: Infection Control
QUALIFICATIONS
- Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario required
- Master’s degree in Nursing required, or other relevant master’s degree
- Certification in Infection Control (CIC) required
- Recent (within 2–3 years) experience in Infection Prevention and Control required
- Minimum of 2–4 years of recent (within 2–3 years) hospital clinical experience required
- Knowledge of current best practices, legislation, and reporting requirements related to Infection Prevention and Control
- Experience engaging with stakeholders and government agencies (e.g., Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care (MOHLTC), Public Health Ontario (PHO)) and Infection Prevention and Control organizations (e.g., IPAC Canada, Provincial Infectious Diseases Advisory Committee (PIDAC))
- Demonstrated proficiency in patient physical assessment required
- Flexibility in working hours as dictated by program needs required
- Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills, with strong interpersonal skills, particularly in conflict resolution, required
- Basic computer proficiency using a variety of applications required
- Knowledge of adult teaching and learning principles, combined with recent teaching experience, required
- Demonstrated ability to work independently required
- Commitment to ongoing annual education and continuous improvement in Infection Prevention and Control and quality improvement required
- Good attendance and work record required
- Demonstrated commitment to personal safety and the safety of fellow workers, patients, volunteers, and visitors
- Demonstrated commitment to supporting a culture of safety and the prevention of adverse health events within the organization
- Bilingualism (Advanced level English/French) is required. All unilingual candidates are encouraged to apply and may be considered if the identified French requirement has been met or there are no successful bilingual candidates. A formal French test will be conducted to evaluate the proficiency level.
