Responsibilities
Vacancy Status: Existing position
Reporting directly to the Dean of the Faculty of Education and Health, the incumbent will assist in the teaching of the Nursing Laboratory by providing evidence-based learning experiences and clinical simulations to students in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) program.
Be responsible for teaching and assisting with teaching nursing laboratories in collaboration with nursing faculty who teach nursing praxis courses
In collaboration with nursing faculty, support student remediation in the laboratory
Maintain the nursing laboratory in a functional status
Understand the laboratory component of the English nursing program curriculum
Evaluate student performance in the lab and provide feedback
Provide feedback to relevant nursing praxis course faculty relative to student competency and skill level in the laboratory setting
Coordinate and supervise the laboratory during practice sessions
Facilitate student learning to support them in the opportunity to meet nursing praxis course objectives in the laboratory setting
Develop and maintain the computer learning component of nursing for the laboratory
Maintain an inventory of all nursing laboratory supplies and equipment
Ensure adequate supply and laundering of linens
Ensure proper waste disposal of all nursing laboratory supplies
Active participation in internal and external committees
Perform other duties directly related to this position as assigned
Qualifications
Minimum BScN Registered Nurse, MScN preferred
Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
Four (4) to five (5) years of related experience
Good teacher-student rapport
Computer knowledge including D2L, Google Suite, Microsoft Suite
Ability to work collaboratively with other nursing Laboratory Technologists and faculty
Ability to work fluently (verbal and written) in both official languages, French and English, is required.

The official University hours of operation shall be from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, during, and including, the months from September to April, and from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m Monday through Friday during and including May to August., amounting to thirty-three and three-quarter (33.75) hours per week.
