Position Overview:
We are looking for a dependable and versatile Maintenance Technician to support our fabrication and machine shop operations. This role is responsible for maintaining and repairing a variety of shop equipment and supporting ongoing custom work. A millwright 433A certification is not required—we value real-world experience, mechanical ability, and the ability to adapt in a custom, project-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair fabrication and machining equipment, including welders, CNC machines, lathes, mills, press brakes, shears, and saws
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues across a range of shop equipment
- Perform preventative maintenance and adjust schedules based on equipment use and project demands
- Support equipment installations, shop layout changes, and machinery moves
- Assist with fabrication, modification, and improvement of equipment, tooling, and fixtures as needed
- Read and interpret schematics, manuals, and technical drawings
- Ensure all maintenance activities follow safety procedures and best practices
- Work closely with machinists, fabricators, and supervisors to keep projects running efficiently
Qualifications & Requirements
- Maintenance experience in a fabrication shop, machine shop, or custom manufacturing environment
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills and hands-on experience
- Working knowledge of electrical systems (motors, controls; PLC exposure is an asset)
- Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, and general shop equipment
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a custom, job-based environment
- Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Experience with heavy industrial equipment (cranes, welders, CNC machines, hydraulics) is essential
