Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounting Technician / Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in bookkeeping, personal and corporate tax preparation, and proficiency in accounting and office software. This role offers flexible hours and the chance to contribute meaningfully to a growing firm.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform full-cycle bookkeeping for a range of small business clients using QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online.
- Prepare corporate tax returns (T2) and related schedules.
- Prepare personal tax returns (T1) using TaxCycle Software.
- Reconcile bank and credit card accounts, prepare journal entries, and maintain accurate general ledgers.
- Prepare and maintain working papers for review.
- Assist with payroll, GST/HST filings, and other compliance tasks.
- Prepare and edit documents, spreadsheets, and correspondence using Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Communicate with clients in a professional and timely manner.
Qualifications
- Diploma or certificate in Accounting, Bookkeeping, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 3 years of bookkeeping/accounting experience in a public accounting practice.
- Proficiency with QuickBooks Desktop, QuickBooks Online, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with TaxCycle or similar tax preparation software preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Pay: $60,000.00-$80,000.00 per year

Experience:
