The Kimberley Arts Council (KAC) is a non-profit organization that promotes and supports the arts in Kimberley and surrounding areas, fostering inclusive opportunities for artistic participation in the community. Through its partnership with the City of Kimberley, KAC operates Centre 64, a community hub dedicated to enriching local arts and culture while ensuring accessibility for all.

The Kimberley Arts Council is gearing up for something big — our 50th anniversary celebration at Centre 64 in 2027! We're looking for a curious, motivated summer student to help us dig into our history, preserve it for the future, and help plan the big event. If you love community, creativity, and a good story, this one's for you.
The Details
Location: Kimberley, BC (on-site at Centre 64)
Hours: 35-40 hours/week, Monday to Friday. Total hours to be worked: 280 (there may be an opportunity for more total hours if agreeable to both parties).
Wage: $21.00/hour

What You'll Be Doing
In this role, you'll support Kimberley's 50th anniversary arts celebration as a researcher, archivist, community liaison, and event planner. Your day-to-day work will include:
- Researching and documenting the history of the Kimberley Arts Council
- Digitizing archival photos and creating a digital archive
- Identifying and interviewing key community figures and partner organizations
- Writing up the KAC's story in an engaging historical document
- Helping plan and coordinate the 50th anniversary events happening in 2027
- Supporting gallery administration and project development at Centre 64
- Working with digital camera, document scanner, and audio/visual equipment
- Data entry and general administrative support as needed
- Liaising with the community volunteer group
Who We're Looking For
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- An investigative spirit — you enjoy finding and telling stories
- Comfortable with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive, etc.)
- A positive, collaborative attitude and great team energy
- Bonus: experience or interest in archival preservation (not required!)

To qualify for this position through the Canada Summer Jobs program, you must:
- Be between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment
- Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act
- Be legally entitled to work in British Columbia
