Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dietary Aide to join our team in a nurturing environment. As a vital member of our kitchen staff, you will play an essential role in ensuring that residents receive nutritious and appealing meals. This position is particularly suited for individuals who have a passion for food service and customer care, especially within a nursing home or hospital setting.
Duties
- Assist in the preparation and serving of meals to residents, ensuring that dietary restrictions and preferences are met.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen areas, including utensils, equipment, and dining spaces.
- Help with food handling and storage according to health regulations to ensure food safety.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure timely meal service and assist with meal delivery to residents.
- Provide excellent customer service by interacting positively with residents during meal times, addressing their needs, and ensuring satisfaction.
- Support the kitchen staff in various tasks as needed, including inventory management and meal preparation.
Skills
- Previous experience in a kitchen environment or food service is preferred, especially in nursing homes or hospitals.
- Strong time management skills to efficiently handle multiple tasks during busy meal periods.
- Knowledge of proper food handling techniques and sanitation practices.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with residents and team members.
- A compassionate attitude towards helping others and a commitment to providing quality care through nutrition.
