Summary of Position:
The Working Foreman/woman is responsible for overseeing day-to-day construction site operations while actively participating in physical work tasks. This role includes supervising crew members, coordinating work activities, ensuring safety compliance, and maintaining quality control, while also performing hands-on labour as required to meet project deadlines. The Working Foreman/woman acts as the primary on-site leader, ensuring efficient workflow and clear communication between management and the crew.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise, direct, and support crew members to ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, and to quality standards.
- Act as the main point of contact between workers and the Site Superintendent / Project Manager.
- Assign tasks, monitor progress, and provide hands-on assistance as needed.
- Read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications to guide work activities.
- Ensure all crew members follow company safety policies and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Conduct site inspections to verify quality, progress, and compliance with project requirements.
- Coordinate the delivery and use of materials, tools, and equipment on site.
- Identify and resolve problems or delays, escalating issues to management when necessary.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe worksite.
- Complete required daily reports, timesheets, and other site documentation accurately.
- Train and mentor less experienced workers in proper techniques and safety practices.
- Perform manual labour or operate equipment as required to assist with project completion.
- Perform other reasonable duties as assigned by the Employer from time to time.
Working Conditions:
- Work is primarily outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Combination of supervisory duties and physical labour.
- May involve lifting up to 50 lbs, standing, bending, and working in various positions for extended periods.
- May require overtime, weekends, or irregular hours depending on project needs.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $100,000.00-$140,000.00 per year
