At Huronia Alarm & Fire Security Inc (Huronia), our CFAA Fire Safety Technicians are responsible for installing, repairing, serving, inspecting alarm systems, fire extinguishers, and emergency lighting. You will work closely with other Fire Safety Technicians, Schedulers, and the Fire Safety Manager

This current open position is based out of our Midland location however work could be anywhere within Grey County, Simcoe County and Muskoka. Company vehicle is provided. The regular hours of work are Monday to Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm, with a 30 min unpaid lunch.

Responsibilities
- Install, repair, service, inspect fire alarm systems/equipment monthly/annually.
- Annual and monthly inspections of fire alarm, extinguisher, hoses and emergency lighting systems.
- Verification of fire alarm systems and related equipment as per CAN/ULC S537 with good knowledge of OBC, OFC and installation practices.
- Provide consistently high levels of customer service.
- Complete all fire related repairs from the deficiency lists provided.
- Maintenance service for fire alarm systems.
- Work with other companies/sub-contractors to inspect related fire equipment i.e. sprinkler systems.
- Provide customer with informative summary of work to be done or recommendations for fire system following inspection.
- Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, schematics, and operational/product manual.
- Participate in on-all emergency hours as needed and take part in the normal on-call rotation for emergency after-hours service.
- Interface directly with salesperson to verify job quotes and to answer questions and handle both internal and external customer problems in a timely manner
- Ensure timesheets and required reports are completed by the specified deadlines.
- Complete required reports on time.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Canada Fire Alarm Association (CFAA) Technician License.
- 2 to 5 years related fire alarm experience.
- Knowledge of fire alarm systems and troubleshooting experience, including OBC and OFC Codes and Standards.
- Kitchen suppression certification is an asset.
- Good communication skills and computer skills – use of laptop for reports including outlook, word, excel as required.
- Ability and proven experience working under pressure in high-stress situations.
- Demonstrated ability to multitask and show initiative.
- Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment.
- Clear criminal record and clear drivers abstract.
- Ability to work on-call on a rotating basis.
