Service Manager Opportunity – Calgary, AB

A leading automotive dealership group is seeking an experienced Service Manager to oversee a high-performing service department in Calgary. This is a hands-on leadership role with direct influence over operational execution, team development, and customer experience within a modern OEM dealership environment. You will play a key role in driving performance outcomes, strengthening team capability, and ensuring consistent service excellence.
Role Overview
This position is responsible for leading all aspects of service department operations, including workflow efficiency, team leadership, and customer satisfaction. You will be accountable for achieving financial and operational objectives while maintaining a strong focus on quality, productivity, and customer retention.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop service advisors, technicians, and support staff
- Oversee daily workflow including inspections, diagnostics, repair, and service scheduling
- Ensure strong customer retention through high-quality service delivery and issue resolution
- Monitor department performance and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and profitability
- Conduct regular quality control audits of repairs and customer interactions
- Manage departmental budgets, expenses, and performance targets
- Maintain compliance with safety standards and operational policies
- Foster a high-performance, accountable, and collaborative team environment
- Support ongoing training and development of staff
Requirements
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in an automotive dealership service environment
- 3–5 years of leadership or management experience within a service department
- OEM dealership experience is required
- Post-secondary education in a related field is considered an asset
- Journeyperson Automotive Technician certification is an asset (not required)
- Strong knowledge of dealership service operations and industry standards
- Experience with CDK / ADP or similar dealership management systems is an asset
- Proven ability to lead, coach, and motivate technical and service teams
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Valid driver’s licence with a clean driving record
