Overview
We are seeking a reliable and adaptable CNC Machinist to support daily production. This role is suited to someone with hands-on setup and machining experience who can work independently, troubleshoot issues, and consistently produce quality parts.
You will be involved in CNC machine setup and operation, inspection, process adjustments, and general shop support. Strong machining knowledge, attention to detail, flexibility, and a dependable work ethic are essential.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC mills
- Read and interpret drawings, setup sheets, and work instructions
- Install tooling, fixtures, and workholding
- Set and adjust tool and work offsets
- Perform first-off and in-process inspections
- Make minor program edits and process adjustments
- Monitor tool wear, part quality, and machine performance
- Complete required production and inspection records
- Identify and report non-conforming parts or process issues
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
- Support operators and less-experienced machinists as required
- Assist with process improvements, tooling trials, and setup reduction
- Perform routine maintenance on CNC equipment and ensure calibration for precision machining.
Qualifications
- CNC setup and machining experience
- Ability to read engineering drawings and GD&T
- Experience using common precision measuring equipment
- Knowledge of cutting tools, feeds and speeds, workholding, and machining practices.
- Ability to troubleshoot dimensional, tooling, and surface-finish issues.
- Experience with multi-axis machining, probing, automation, or robotic loading is an asset
- Familiarity with Fanuc controls
- Ability to use hand tools, calipers, and basic math skills for precise measurements and adjustments
- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on safety standards and quality assurance.
