About The Role:
Join the Facility Operations Team at Greenland Garden Centre, one of Alberta's premier garden centres.
In this hands-on, full-time, year-round position, you'll play an essential role in maintaining and improving our property. From lawn care and snow removal to construction projects, equipment repairs, general maintenance, and special event setup, every season brings new projects, new challenges, and the opportunity to build, repair, and improve something you can take pride in.

What You Will Do:
- Maintain and improve Greenland Garden Centre's buildings, grounds, equipment, and infrastructure, ensuring the property remains safe, functional, and well maintained.
- Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on buildings, equipment, fixtures, fencing, irrigation / water systems, and other facility assets.
- Assist with construction, renovation, installation, and property improvement projects.
- Operate, inspect, and maintain company vehicles, equipment, tools, and machinery safely and responsibly.
- Support bulk yard operations, including customer loading, receiving deliveries, moving materials, organizing inventory, and maintaining a safe, efficient work area.
- Support seasonal changeovers, special event setup and teardown, and other operational projects throughout the year.
- Identify maintenance concerns and opportunities to improve the appearance, functionality, and efficiency of the property.
- Maintain clean, organized work areas while following all company policies, safe work practices, and health and safety procedures.
- Provide friendly, professional customer service while representing Greenland Garden Centre in a positive manner.
- Support other departments and perform other duties as required to contribute to the overall success of Greenland Garden Centre.

Qualifications:
- Mechanical aptitude and confidence using a variety of hand and power tools.
- Experience in facilities maintenance, construction, carpentry, welding, plumbing, electrical, mechanical repair, equipment operation, or other hands-on maintenance or skilled trades experience is considered an asset.
- Bobcat/Skid Steer certification and experience is considered an asset.
- A valid drivers licence.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Working Conditions & Physical Demands:
This is a physically demanding position requiring the ability to:
- Safely perform physically demanding work throughout the workday, such as: bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing, shoveling, digging, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and moving heavy materials, equipment, and supplies.
- Safely work at heights using ladders, aerial lifts, and other approved equipment as required.
- Safely operate a variety of hand tools, power tools, and outdoor maintenance equipment.
- Work outdoors year-round in varying weather conditions, including heat, rain, wind, snow, and cold temperatures, while maintaining a commitment to safe work practices.
