Part-Time Newborn Caregiver & Household Support
Location: Southeast Calgary, AB
Start Date: As soon as possible
Hours: 20 hours per week
Schedule:
- Monday: 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM
- Tuesday: 2:00 PM – 7:00 PM (morning hours from 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM may be available if preferred)
- Wednesday: 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM
- Thursday: 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM
- Friday: No scheduled shifts
About the Opportunity:
Nannies on Board is currently recruiting on behalf of a welcoming family in Southeast Calgary who recently welcomed a newborn. They are looking for a dependable, nurturing caregiver who is confident caring for infants while also assisting with light household responsibilities that help keep the home running smoothly.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys supporting families during the early months of parenthood, is proactive, and takes pride in creating a safe, organized, and caring environment.
This position offers 20 hours each week with one family. Caregivers interested in additional hours may also have access to casual or part-time opportunities with other families through Nannies on Board.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Provide attentive, responsive care for a newborn throughout each shift
- Assist with feeding, diaper changes, naps, and age-appropriate developmental activities
- Create and maintain a safe, clean, and nurturing environment
- Follow family routines and parenting preferences
- Comfort and respond promptly to the baby's needs
- Occasionally assist with care for an older toddler sibling when needed
- Prepare simple meals for the family
- Wash, fold, and organize children's clothing and linens
- Keep children's bedrooms, play spaces, kitchen, and common areas tidy
- Help with light housekeeping duties as required
- Offer general household support to help daily routines run efficiently
Qualifications:
- Previous professional experience caring for infants
- Excellent references from previous employers or families
- Current CPR and First Aid certification, or the ability to obtain certification before beginning employment
- Strong organizational skills and a dependable work ethic
- Confidence working independently while managing daily priorities
- Professional communication skills and a respectful, family-focused approach
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in healthcare, nursing, postpartum care, doula services, early childhood education, or a related field is considered an asset.
Who We're Looking For:
The ideal caregiver is warm, patient, and experienced with newborns. They enjoy taking initiative, remain calm under pressure, and are comfortable balancing quality infant care with light household assistance. A genuine passion for supporting young families and helping create a positive home environment is essential.
Compensation:
Starting pay begins at $22.00 per hour, with final hourly compensation determined after interview process by experience, qualifications, certifications, and overall fit for the position.
Pay: $22.00-$25.00 per hour
