Position Overview
We are currently looking to fill a casual position for Food Service Worker/Dietary Aide at The New Vista Society located in Burnaby, BC.
Detailed Overview:
Positions at this level perform a variety of duties within a food service operation such as portioning and serving meals, washing and peeling vegetables and fruit, preparing items such as tea, coffee and toast, and washing dishes and utensils.
Responsibilities:
- Setting up and maintaining the serveries they are assigned to
- Recording all required documentation (temperature logs, dishwashing logs, meal time temp logs)
- Prep juice, coffee, tea
- Prepare and distribute meals according to the dietary plan
- Clear and sanitize tables
- Washing of all dishes from dining room
- Cleaning and Sanitizing serveries
- Proper lockout and cleaning of all equipment
Qualifications:
- Grade 10 or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Ability to understand all dietary procedures and policies
- Ability to operate and maintain the equipment safely
- Able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Able to deal with others effectively following New Vista's Values
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
- Ability to organize work load
