We are actively recruiting for a Casual/Back up Personal Support Worker to assist a private female employer in all activities of daily living.
The ideal candidate will be positive, patient and have strong housekeeping skills.
Location:
- Langley (Near Langley Event Centre)
Shifts & Hours of Work:
- Casual/Back up shifts
- Sunday to Saturday (7 days a week)
- 8:00am to 3:00pm and 4:00pm to 11:00pm
Compensation:
- $22.00 an hour during 4 weeks of training
- $23.00 an hour after training is completed
Responsibilities will include (but may not be limited to):
- Morning shift:
- Personal care such as oral care, occasional peri care, dressing and showering
- Breakfast preparation, occasional assistance with eating
- Med administration and transfers
- Light housekeeping and laundry
- Walking a big dog
- Evening shift:
- Personal care such as oral care and dressing
- Med administration and transfers
- Meal preparation
Required Qualifications:
- Experience with light housekeeping
- Vaccinations are NOT required
- Must be comfortable working in an environment with big dog and walking it
- Live near by the location above
- Reliable transportation to work, especially in the winter
- Excellent food safety practices
- Willing to train
- Caregiving experience preferred
- Strong command of English (reading)
- Physically fit and capable of doing pivot transfers
