Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Asbestos Abatement Worker to join our environmental safety and construction team. This role involves safely removing and managing asbestos-containing materials in compliance with all safety regulations and industry standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and experience with cleaning, hand tools, power tools, and construction or restoration projects. Responsibilities
- Safely remove asbestos materials from buildings and structures following strict safety protocols and regulatory guidelines
- Prepare work sites by setting up containment barriers and ensuring proper ventilation
- Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to perform asbestos abatement tasks
- Conduct cleaning of work areas during and after abatement projects to ensure environmental safety
- Assist with demolition, restoration, or construction activities related to asbestos removal projects
- Properly dispose of asbestos waste in accordance with hazardous material regulations
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, materials used, and safety procedures followed
- Follow all safety procedures to prevent contamination and protect team members and the environment
Requirements
- Prior experience with cleaning, hand tools, power tools, construction, or restoration work is preferred
- Knowledge of asbestos removal procedures and safety standards is a plus but not mandatory; training will be provided
- Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights as needed
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols
- Physical ability to perform manual labor including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Must pass relevant background checks and adhere to safety training requirements for handling hazardous materials
Pay: $18.00-$27.00 per hour
