The Welmar Group is looking for energetic, hardworking individuals to join our welding/fitting team. Full-time shifts are available for experienced welders for stainless and carbon steel projects. We are a custom fabrication shop, so the project variety regularly changes.
Welder’s responsibilities include:
- Read blueprints and drawings
- Setting up and calibrating welding equipment based on process required
- Operate angle grinders and associated tools to prepare parts for welding
- Fit components to drawing specifications
- Weld components using MIG welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead)
- Visually inspect welds for defects and make necessary repairs
- Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety
Job Requirements: 5+ yrs experience
- Proven experience as a fitter/welder using thin gauge thicknesses through 3/4" thick
- Experience in using a variety of welding equipment and tools
- Proficiency in reading, interpreting technical documents and drawings
- Knowledge of safety standards and must use PPE (face-shield, gloves etc.)
- Proficient in English
- Successful completion of a relevant apprenticeship program is an asset
- Professional Certification (e.g. an CWB welding certificate) will be a plus
