Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Trust Fund Accountant to join their team for a 6 month contract. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional with strong full-cycle accounting experience, a solid understanding of financial reporting, and the ability to manage a portfolio of trust fund clients in a client-focused environment.
- Prepare journal entries and maintain accurate, up-to-date general ledger transactions.

Reconcile balance sheet and income statement accounts.

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

Prepare government remittances.

Monitor cash flow and prepare bank transfers for surplus funds.

Reconcile investment accounts with statements from custodians and investment managers.

Coordinate investment transfers between custodians, investment managers, and client bank accounts.

Prepare cash flow, investment, and other client reporting as required.

Prepare working papers and assist with annual audits.

Evaluate and respond to client-related inquiries.

Handle day-to-day accounting duties for assigned trust fund clients.
- Five or more years of experience in full-cycle accounting, financial statement preparation, and investment management.

College or university diploma in business administration with a focus on accounting.

CPA student status or CPA designation is considered an asset.

Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office, with intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Strong math skills and sound accounting knowledge.

Collaborative team player with strong attention to detail.

Good written and verbal communication skills.

Experience with Accpac/Sage is considered an asset.
In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for financial statement preparation, account reconciliations, cash flow monitoring, investment account coordination, audit support, and responding to client inquiries. This position is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, organized, and confident working with multiple client accounts.
