Job Overview
The Grounds Maintenance Worker plays a vital role in ensuring the aesthetic appeal and functionality of outdoor spaces. This position involves a variety of tasks related to landscape maintenance, including the upkeep of flower beds, lawns, and other green areas. The position includes snow clearing during the winter months. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and be skilled in using both hand and power tools to perform their duties effectively. Be physically able to perform moderate levels of physical exertion, and be able to start work by 7 a.m.
Duties
- Perform landscape maintenance tasks such as mowing, trimming, and edging lawns. Weeding flower beds
- Daily power washing of exterior sidewalks and driveways
- Daily exterior property clean up
- Dig, build, and maintain garden beds and other landscape features.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools for various maintenance tasks.
- Assist in planting flowers, shrubs, and trees as needed.
- Maintain equipment by performing regular inspections and minor repairs. .
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently.
- Other assigned duties as required
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and repair equipment as necessary.
- Proficient in using hand tools such as shovels, rakes, and pruners effectively.
- Experience with power tools including lawnmowers, trimmers, and blowers.
- Ability to dig and build various landscape features
- Able to start work by 7 a.m.
