Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Cafe Manager to lead our café operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for food service, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences. This role involves overseeing daily operations, managing staff, ensuring food safety standards, and maintaining a welcoming environment for guests. Previous restaurant management, hospitality, or hotel experience is highly valued, along with a background in food preparation and team supervision. The Cafe Manager will play a key role in maintaining high-quality service and operational efficiency.
Duties
- Oversee daily café operations, ensuring smooth and efficient service
- Supervise and train staff in food preparation, serving, and food handling procedures
- Manage POS systems such as Micros POS for order processing and cash handling
- Lead team management activities including interviewing, hiring, scheduling, and performance evaluations
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards and health regulations
- Coordinate food preparation and kitchen activities to maintain quality standards
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve any service issues promptly
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with suppliers as needed
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café environment
- Implement strategies to enhance customer satisfaction and repeat business
Experience
- Proven supervising experience in a food service or restaurant setting
- Extensive food industry knowledge including food preparation, cooking, and kitchen operations
- Experience with restaurant management systems such as Micros POS or similar platforms
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively
- Background in hospitality or hotel management is advantageous
- Experience in interviewing and hiring staff members
- Demonstrated ability to handle cash transactions accurately and responsibly
- Knowledge of food safety protocols and regulations
- Prior barista experience or bar management experience is a plus
- Previous restaurant or café management experience preferred but not required; leadership qualities are essential
