Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and professional Delivery Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting goods to various locations, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining excellent customer service. This role requires a strong focus on safety, efficient route management, and proper handling of freight and equipment. A valid driver’s license and experience with commercial driving are essential for success in this position.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate delivery vehicles to transport freight and goods to designated locations
- Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment, including forklifts when necessary
- Ensure all deliveries are completed accurately and on schedule
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to maintain safety standards
- Maintain proper documentation of deliveries, including receipts and delivery logs
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery status or issues
- Assist with heavy equipment operation or automotive repairs if required during the course of work
- Follow all safety protocols related to heavy equipment operation and freight handling
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial driving and freight transportation
- Ability to operate forklifts and other heavy equipment safely
- Knowledge of automotive repair basics is a plus for troubleshooting vehicle issues
- Strong organizational skills for route planning and time management
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with customers and team members
- Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently when needed
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Physical ability to lift heavy loads and perform manual tasks as required
