Overview
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Master to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in sushi preparation and a deep understanding of Japanese cuisine. As a Sushi Master, you will be responsible for crafting high-quality sushi dishes that delight our customers while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and presentation. This role requires creativity, precision, and a commitment to excellence in the kitchen. Training is available.
Responsibilities
- Prepare a variety of sushi dishes, including nigiri, sashimi, and rolls, using fresh ingredients.
- Ensure all food is prepared according to established recipes and presentation standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station and kitchen area.
- Adhere to food safety guidelines and regulations to ensure the health and safety of customers.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and service.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in sushi preparation techniques.
- Stay updated on current trends in sushi cuisine and incorporate innovative ideas into menu offerings.
- Provide exceptional service by engaging with customers when necessary to enhance their dining experience.
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation, specifically in sushi making.
- Strong cooking skills with an emphasis on Japanese cuisine.
- Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling techniques.
- Previous restaurant or kitchen experience is essential.
- Excellent meal preparation skills with attention to detail in presentation.
