Diamond Drill Mechanic

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Diamond Drill Mechanic to join our team.
Target Start Date and Duration: The position is long term and available immediately.
Location: Callander, Ontario (Travel to project sites may be required)
Duties and Responsibilities: The Diamond Drill Mechanic is responsible for the inspection, diagnosis, repair, maintenance, and rebuilding of diamond drilling equipment, support vehicles, and related hydraulic and mechanical systems. This position plays a critical role in maximizing equipment reliability and minimizing downtime both in the shop and in the field.
Some of the specific tasks will include but are not limited to the following:
· Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic and electrical issues on drill rigs.
· Perform preventative maintenance on drill rigs, support equipment, generators, water pumps, compressors, and service trucks.
· Repair and rebuild hydraulic cylinders, pumps, motors, and valves.
· Troubleshoot diesel engines and power units.
· Service rod handlers, winches, wireline systems, and drill components.
· Weld and fabricate components as required
· Complete scheduled maintenance inspections and maintain accurate service records.
· Respond to field breakdowns and provide emergency repair support when required.
· Order and identify replacement parts and maintain shop inventory.
· Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with company policies
· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
· Assist in preparing equipment for mobilization and demobilization.
Qualifications:
· Minimum 5 years of experience repairing and maintaining diamond drilling equipment.
· Certified Heavy Duty Equipment Technician.
· Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems, diesel engines, electrical troubleshooting, and mechanical repairs.
· Experience working on surface diamond drill rigs and support equipment.
· Welding and fabrication experience is considered a strong asset.
· Ability to read hydraulic and electrical schematics.
· Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
· Valid Class G driver's licence (DZ or AZ licence is considered an asset).
· Ability to travel to remote project sites when required.
· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
· Strong organizational and communication skills.
