Overview
We are seeking dedicated and vigilant Traffic Controllers / Flaggers to ensure the safe and efficient movement of vehicles and pedestrians around construction sites and roadwork zones. This role is essential for maintaining safety standards, directing traffic flow, and supporting construction operations. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for safety, strong communication skills, and the ability to work in dynamic outdoor environments. Experience Flagging with heavy equipment operation, paving, or construction is a plus but not mandatory. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to large-scale infrastructure projects while gaining valuable industry experience.
Responsibilities
- Direct vehicular and pedestrian traffic around construction zones using hand signals, signs, or flagging devices
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and traffic regulations at all times
- Communicate effectively with construction crews, drivers, and pedestrians to facilitate smooth traffic flow
- Set up and dismantle traffic control devices such as cones, barriers, and signage
- Monitor weather conditions and adjust traffic control measures accordingly
- Report any safety hazards or incidents to the appropriate personnel promptly
- Assist with site safety inspections as needed to uphold safety standards
Experience
- Prior experience in traffic control with paving, or construction is preferred but not required
- Must Supply all PPE required for the position including Hard Hat, Yellows, Sign, Radios, Safety Glasses
- Car required to get to sites
- Strong understanding of traffic safety regulations and procedures
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to remain alert for extended periods
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Valid certifications for traffic control or flagging are advantageous but can be provided if necessary
