We're a 24-hour gym in Surrey, BC looking for an experienced overnight cleaning professional to step into a supervisory role. This is a great opportunity for someone who takes pride in their work, can operate independently, and wants to be part of a gym community long-term. This is a permanent, full-time position as an employee — not a contractor role.
What you'll be doing
- Overseeing and maintaining the cleanliness of our entire facility throughout the overnight shift
- Mopping, sweeping, and vacuuming all common areas including washrooms
- Wiping down and sanitizing gym equipment
- Deep cleaning washrooms to a high standard each night
- Handling light facility maintenance — including minor drywall repairs, touch-up painting, and general upkeep tasks as they arise
- Coordinating with daytime staff to ensure consistent facility and maintenance standards
- Completing and emailing a shift report at the end of each shift (computer provided)
- Providing excellent customer service to members during overnight hours — including selling memberships and processing payments
- Being the sole staff member on-site from 10 PM – 6 AM, with members having 24-hour keycard access
Who we're looking for
- 3+ years of professional cleaning or janitorial experience (career cleaners encouraged to apply)
- Handy and comfortable with light maintenance tasks — drywall patching, painting, and minor repairs are a definite asset
- A natural people person with strong customer service skills — you'll be the face of the gym for our overnight members
- Comfortable working overnight and being self-directed without on-site management
- Strong written communication skills for daily shift reports
- Reliable, punctual, and takes genuine pride in the quality of their work
- Overnight shift experience is a strong asset
