As an Early Childhood Educator, you will work side-by-side with teachers and families to provide a home away from home for children in our care. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Childhood Educator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating a nurturing and stimulating environment for young children, fostering their social, emotional, and cognitive development. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and a genuine love for working with children.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that promote learning through play and exploration.
- Create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages children's curiosity and creativity.
- Observe and assess children's progress, providing feedback to parents and guardians on their development.
- Foster positive relationships with children, encouraging their independence and self-esteem.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the educational experience and share best practices.
- Maintain accurate records of children's attendance, progress, and behavior.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's development and any concerns that may arise.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations in the classroom.
- Working to maintain cleanliness and organization of classroom materials.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills
- Strong background in childcare with a focus on early childhood education principles.
- Excellent organizational skills to manage classroom activities effectively.
- Proficient in English with the ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
- Basic computer operation skills for record keeping and lesson planning.
- Effective time management skills to balance teaching responsibilities and administrative tasks.
- Experience working with children in a classroom setting or similar environment is essential.
- Bilingual abilities are a plus, enhancing communication with diverse families
Requirements:
- Early Childhood Education - Level 1, 2, or 3 Certification
- Must meet province requirements for childcare employment
- Current Standard First Aid and infant child CPR and criminal and vulnerable sector check
