Position Overview:
- Position: Full Time & Part Time Permanent – Tactical Security Patrol Guard (Existing Vacancies)
- Location: Newmarket & Richmond Hill
- Schedule: 8 hours, 12 hours Continental Days, Nights, and Rotation Schedule
- Hours: 40 to 44 hours per week
- Salary: $20.60/hr
Paragon is looking for highly motivated individuals for retail security guard positions at Upper Canada Mall in Newmarket & Hillcrest Mall in Richmond Hill. The hours for this position can be day, afternoon, or night shift. The pay rate for this position is $20.60/HR.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Working closely with Mall Management
- Full knowledge of 494, Trespass to Property, and Oxford Customer Service Excellence
- Filing paperwork
- Responsible for coaching and counselling guards
- Ensuring guards are trained on important procedures (fire panel, power-outage, bomb threat, etc)
- Review and respond to emails relating to Security or Security Supervisor
- Be aware of any procedures or site changes
- Memo book checks
- Review incident reports to ensure all is up to standard
- Review and save important CCTV footage
- Writing reports
- Obtaining statements and collecting information for Incident Reports
- Performing Customer Service-related functions
- Experience with enforcing TPA and situations where Use of Force is required
- Be physically capable of performing the required duties
- Basic knowledge and use of integrated security systems
Minimum Requirements:
- Must be available to work full time, all shifts (days/nights/evenings)
- Valid Ontario Security Guard License
- 1 year of tactical security experience preferred
- Thorough understanding of TPA and Section 494 of the Criminal Code of Canada
- First Aid/CPR Level C/Standard
- Strong customer service skill
- Demonstrated punctuality and reliability, tact and diplomacy
- Post-Secondary education in a Law Enforcement/Security program preferred
- Excellent verbal/written communication skills
- Good computer skills (Word, Excel, emails, typing)
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment
- Comfortable working in tactical environments and making arrests if required
