Responsibilities Include:
- install underground utilities to designed grades and alignment
- set up a pipe laser and establish slope
- dig with an excavator, and establish proper grade and bedding depths
- cut and bevel pipe, cut concrete manholes and pipe
- work with heavy equipment to locate existing utilities
- bolt up mechanically restrained fittings
Qualifications:
- minimum 8 years of Civil Construction experience, working specifically in underground utilities
- class 5 drivers license
- must be proficient with all tools relating to this job title (cut off saws, pipe lasers, rigging, etc.)
- extensive knowledge and understanding of the instillation of storm, sanitary, and watermains
- able to read and interpret Civil drawings
- understanding of proper excavation and shoring methods
- able to assemble shoring cages
- able to work in a team environment
