Overview
Nat Jay Beauty Hair Cut Inc. is seeking an experienced and motivated Barber Shop Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our busy barbershop while maintaining the highest standards of customer service and barbering excellence. The successful candidate will primarily manage business operations, supervise staff, recruit and train apprentice barbers, and ensure efficient shop performance while also providing professional barbering services as required.
Languages
Education
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
Experience
- 3 years to less than 5 years of related experience in barbering or hair services.
- Previous supervisory or management experience in a barbershop, salon, or similar customer service environment is required.
Work Setting
ResponsibilitiesOperational Management
- Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the daily operations of the barbershop.
- Develop and implement operational procedures to improve customer service and operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety and sanitation regulations.
- Monitor business performance and recommend operational improvements.
Human Resources
- Recruit, interview and hire barbers and apprentice barbers.
- Supervise, schedule and coordinate the activities of employees.
- Train, mentor and evaluate apprentice barbers and newly hired staff.
- Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing coaching.
Inventory and Logistics
- Manage inventory levels of barbering supplies, equipment and retail products.
- Coordinate purchasing and deliveries with suppliers.
- Ensure sufficient inventory is maintained to support business operations.
Administrative Duties
- Perform end-of-day sales reconciliation and cash balancing.
- Prepare daily and monthly sales reports.
- Maintain operational records.
- Assist with payroll preparation and light bookkeeping functions.
- Monitor expenses and operational costs.
Barbering Services
- Provide professional haircutting, beard grooming, shaving and styling services.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary workstation.
- Recommend retail grooming products and services to clients.
- Deliver exceptional customer service while supporting shop operations during peak business periods.

Credentials
- Barber licence (preferred or eligible to obtain in Alberta).
