Description:
As a Refrigeration Mechanic, you will be responsible to assemble, install, repair, and maintain refrigeration and air conditioning equipment. You will also be required to perform continued preventative maintenance and operational performance checks on air or water cooled systems in accordance with Alberta Health Services standards and practices.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited Journeyperson Refrigeration Mechanic Certificate from Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Working knowledge of building automation systems (BAS), digital controls, and energy management systems. Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, blueprints, technical manuals, and manufacturers' specifications. Experience performing preventative maintenance, inspections, equipment testing, and detailed documentation using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS). Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices, including lockout/tagout procedures, confined space awareness, working at heights, and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Physical ability to perform the duties of the position, including lifting, climbing ladders, working in mechanical spaces, and prolonged standing or walking.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in a hospital, healthcare, or other mission-critical facility. Knowledge of healthcare standards, infection prevention and control (IPC), and maintenance best practices. Experience with CMMS software (e.g., E-Facilities) and building automation systems (BAS) and energy management platforms, including Distech Tridium 4.
