Acting Assistant Principal of Iron Ridge Junior Campus
Duties to commence upon selection of a suitable candidate and will continue until November 30, 2026 with the possibility of extension.
Iron Ridge Junior Campus is located in Blackfalds, Alberta. Iron Ridge Junior Campus has approximately 13 teachers and 7 support staff. It serves approximately 260 students by providing a learning environment that uses innovative, collaborative educational practices for Grades 7 and 8.
The acting assistant principal selection committee is seeking an innovative and visionary leader with an excellent background as a classroom teacher and administrator in Junior High environments.
The ideal candidate will possess exemplary interpersonal skills and a commitment to fostering a collaborative environment. The acting assistant principal of the Iron Ridge Junior Campus will be expected to continue building on a proud tradition of actively partnering with the community to deliver the best possible educational experience for all students.
The ideal candidate will possess experience in the following areas:

Evidence of exemplary interpersonal and communication skills.

Evidence of establishing structures and supports focused on concurrent academic and social/emotional interventions.

Evidence of teaching and leadership experience with diverse students.

Evidence of strong foundational knowledge about First Nations, Métis & Inuit for the benefit of all students.

Evidence of a thorough understanding and application of current educational research.

Successful candidates must demonstrate evidence of achievement of a Master of Education degree within the first three years of their assistant principal position.

Evidence of high expectations for student achievement, literacy assessment, and effective literacy programming and interventions.

Evidence of a commitment to leading and supporting professional development and school improvement initiatives aligned with jurisdictional and provincial directions.
