Tundra Designs is a Vancouver-based small business that designs and creates handcrafted wood products, including souvenirs, home décor, and custom gifts. We sell online and through seasonal events, including the Vancouver Christmas Market.
This role is ideal for a student looking for meaningful work experience while maintaining a full course load. Hours are flexible and can be scheduled around classes, exams, and extracurricular commitments.
Location: Remote initially (now until mid-November), with in-person work at the Vancouver Christmas Market (mid-November - end of December)
Hours: Approximately 5 hours per week initially, with increased hours (16 - 20 hours, more if desired) starting mid-November through end of December.
What You'll Do
- Create and schedule social media content
- Update website content and product listings
- Write product descriptions and marketing copy
- Assist with email marketing campaigns
- Conduct market and competitor research
- Support seasonal promotions and marketing initiatives
- Represent Tundra Designs at the Vancouver Christmas Market
- Engage with customers and provide exceptional customer service
- Help customers select products and gift ideas
- Process sales transactions and contribute to sales goals
- Assist with special projects as needed
What We're Looking For
- Current student in Business, Marketing, Communications, Commerce, or a related field
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Friendly, confident, and comfortable engaging with customers
- Strong customer service and sales aptitude
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
- Organized and detail-oriented
- Eligible to work in Canada and meet the eligibility requirements of available student employment funding programs (Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or protected person)
- Successful candidates MUST be available to work in person at the Vancouver Christmas Market between mid-November and December 23 (end date can be adjusted if you need to go home early for the holidays).
Bonus:
- Previous retail, hospitality, customer service, or sales experience
- Experience with Canva, Shopify, social media, photography, or graphic design

The ideal candidate enjoys both creative marketing work and interacting with customers face-to-face. Strong sales and customer service skills are essential, particularly during the Vancouver Christmas Market, where customer engagement and sales will be a major focus of the role.
