PURPOSE OF POSITION:
As a member of the Quality Assurance functional group, you will play a pivotal role in upholding the quality standards of our organization applications and its integrations. Working closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, business analysts, business SMEs and project managers, you will be responsible for designing and executing comprehensive test plans, ensuring the functionality, performance, and reliability of our applications.
This role is responsible for:
- Quality Assurance Support for RRM Systems.
- Ticket Investigation and support
- Operations Support
- Contribution to continuous QA and IT process improvement
KEY RESPONSIBILTY AREAS:
Quality Assurance support for RRM systems.
- Collaborate on the development of comprehensive Test Plans, Scenarios, Test Cases, and Scripts aligned with business requirements.
- Execute and document test cases, including anticipated results, actual results, and proposed resolutions.
- Review and ensure test coverage by evaluating test cases provided by the offshore team.
- Present clear and actionable test results, along with recommendations, to Business Analysts, including potential workarounds.
- Conduct rigorous regression testing to ensure the overall quality and stability of products.
- Identify, document, and track software defects, collaborating closely with the development team to ensure timely resolution.
- Design, implement, and execute automated test cases for validating the functionality and performance of applications and integrations.
- Contribute to the ongoing development and maintenance of the overall test strategy and testing processes for operations and projects.
- Conduct defect triage meetings to ensure all defects are reviewed and triaged based on the business priorities in a timely manner for the next steps.
- Stay current on industry best practices and emerging trends in RRM used applications and quality assurance.
Ticket Investigation Support
- Support root cause analysis by recreating business scenarios and documenting the test results.
- Participate in vendor discussions for clarification of questions and defect findings.
Operations Support
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to estimate the QA effort for planned tickets in upcoming releases.
- Support Business Analysts in the preparation of user documentation for all software releases, with a specific focus on noting any changes to business workflows.
- Collaborate with both onshore and offshore team members in reviewing proposed solutions, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the requirements, and contributing to the overall quality of delivered system via comprehensive test coverage.
- Manual and automated test execution.
Contribute to Continuous QA and IT Process Improvements
- Identify quality assurance process bottleneck and suggest actions for improvement.
- Lean values and practices in exercising the duties of this position.
KEY COMPETENCIES:
- Guidewire Expertise: In-depth knowledge of one or more Guidewire applications and their integration within complex systems.
- Test Automation: Exposure to automation frameworks.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve issues.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly and concisely.
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to contribute strategically to the improvement of testing processes and overall software quality.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- College or University degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
- 1 to 3 years of experience in a Quality assurance role in Guidewire space.
- Working knowledge and experience in the insurance industry
- Strong knowledge in formalized Testing Methodologies with a testing designation such as Certified Software Test Professional (CSTP), International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB) or Certified Software Tester (CSTE) is considered an asset.
- Certification with Guidewire is considered an asset.
- Experience with Guidewire test automation framework or any testing framework will consider an asset.
- Proven experience with Systems Development Life Cycle, preferably in an Agile or Iterative environment.
Experience in Jira, Rally, - Point, and Teams is considered an asset.
- Certification and/or experience with Lean and/or Agile is desirable.
