SUMMARY
We are seeking a Structural Engineer (Building Systems) for immediate employment for the Harley, ON office with opportunities for hybrid work. This position is for a newly created position. You will be working with our team of engineers, EIT's, BIM Modellers and project managers who focus on delivering and installing high quality Total Precast projects within the residential, industrial, and commercial sectors. You will also have the opportunity to work collaboratively with other disciplines externally such as architects, mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, and civil engineers.
YOUR DAY TO DAY

Independently perform structural analysis and design of Total Precast structures, as well as occasionally steel, concrete, wood, and masonry elements; in accordance with relevant codes and standards.

Provide recommendations and advice to external partners such as contractors and consultants of structural impacts, feasibility, timelines, and cost and help coordinate achieving overall project goals from a structural engineering standpoint.

Prepare technical specifications and contribute to project documentation.

Prepare structural analysis and calculation reports.

Coordinate with other engineering disciplines, project managers, and clients to ensure efficient project execution.

Conduct site visits, inspections, and structural assessments to evaluate structure’s conditions and provide conclusions and recommendations.

Ensure project deliverables meet quality, budget, and schedule expectations with little supervision.

Provide technical or operational guidance to less experienced engineers, EIT’s and technicians.

Stay updated on industry codes, regulations, and best practices to ensure high-quality design solutions.
WHAT YOU OFFER

Registered P. Eng, in good standing with the PEO, must be licensed in Ontario prior to starting

Excellent communication skills (interpersonal and written) and proven ability to collaborate with team members in a multi-disciplined face paced environment

Takes ownership with a strong attention to detail

Proficiency in written and spoken English

Minimum of 4 years’ experience related to structural engineering of buildings and structures in industrial, manufacturing, construction and/or commercial environments

Reinforced concrete design experience

Proficiency in structural analysis software including ETABS, STAAD Pro, SAP2000, SAFE, RISA 3D.

Strong understanding of current building codes and design standards (e.g., NBC, OBC, CSA S16, CSA A23.3, etc.)

Working knowledge of modeling software such as RISA, S-Frame, ETABS, STAAD or RAM (Building analysis experience considered an asset.)

Precast/Pre-stressed design experience considered an asset.

Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, Tekla or other BIM experience considered an asset
